Most people you meet on PropZaro are genuine, but property involves large amounts of money. These checks protect you.
- Visit before you pay. Never pay a token, booking or rent advance for a property you have not seen in person.
- Check who you are dealing with. Ask for the owner’s ID and a copy of the sale deed or allotment letter; for agents, ask for their RERA registration where applicable.
- Verify the documents. For purchases, have a lawyer check the title chain, approvals, encumbrances and society NOC before you sign.
- Pay through traceable channels. Use bank transfer or cheque and always take a written receipt.
- Put it in writing. Use a registered rent agreement or a proper agreement to sell that lists the price, deposit, timelines and what happens if either side backs out.
- Report suspicious listings. If a listing asks for money upfront, uses a price far below the market or pressures you to decide immediately, tell us through the contact page.
